The Singapore YOG 2010, is similar to the recent Beijing Olympics 2008. Both worldwide events had lanes specially allocated just for the games.
Many road users have been complaining about giving way to the YOG buses, during the games period.
Personally, I feel that they should be honored, as the YOG is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our generation. As the next time the YOG will arrive in Singapore again, would most probably be for the next generation.
Singapore being the first country to hold this event, all Singaporeans should be honored.
I support The Land Transport Authority (LTA)'s decision in allocating lanes for YOG, as punctuality is essential to the athletes.
Imagine arriving late for a certain sport. It would leave a bad impression for the judges. The athletes would also blame the heavy traffic flow, placing Singapore's image at risk as well.
